Quiche was phenomenal, dressing for the salad that goes with it was perfect, bright and zesty. Strawberry rhubarb jam bars were the best I've had. We randomly found it while getting coffee next door and made a detour 2 days later on the way to he airport to get it again.
I was looking for a good cheesecake in the East Bay for my boyfriend's birthday cake, since he is a big fan of cheesecake. I relized this place had actulally been on my want to go list for a whle with a note saying "NY Cheesecake", so I decided to give it a try! I ordreded their "I Love New York Cheesecake" online three days in advance and picked it up in the store. The whole process was smooth and easy. Once I placed the order, I got a comfirmation email right away. The cheesecake is smooth, with dense cream cheese filling with a hint of fresh lemon and Madagascar vanilla on a buttery shortbread crust. The cake tasted amazing, and I'll definitely be back to try their other flavors in the future!
Everything I've gotten from here was incredible. The owner really understands flavors and pastry making. The sandwiches are great too. Most things come in large portions/heavy with fillings. I appreciate that there are many savory pastries, and the things with cheese have a creamy cheese inside and another baked on top. It could be the same cheese? But the textures are different which is very satisfying. The cheesecake is really good too, very smooth and creamy with just the right amount of sweetness. Thanks for baking delicious things!
We had crumble and whisk catered for lunch at my job. Hands down the best lunch we've ever had. The food was very fresh and flavorful - my favorite were the individual cheesecakes, mashed potatoes and the pot-pie-esque chicken and gravy dish. 10/10 would recommend!!
Stopped in while in the area house hunting and looking around the neighborhood. Charles was friendly and nice. The food was excellent. I had the mushroom pastry which was FILLED! Vanilla foam latte was perfect. Highly recommend if you live in the area.

We went to Crumble and Whisk around 2:00 on a Saturday hoping there would still be cinnamon rolls available. We were able to get one that was still warm and slathered with cream cheese frosting. Sooo good and not overly sweet. Paired it with a spiced carrot juice and butter pecan stuffed croissant. Will definitely return. Great neighborhood service. The owner was friendly and accommodating.
One of the best bakeries in the Bay Area. Scones are soft, fresh and made with real blueberries. Probably the best cinnamon rolls that I ever tasted in my life! The portions sizes are generous and they also make good sandwiches including a pita bread with meatballs sandwich(Greek inspired) that I hope he keeps on the menu(I happened to walk in and he offered it as off menu option 🔥). There are more menu options that I haven’t tried but I’m sure it’s just as good base off my experience so far. Definitely recommend. Friendly staff as well & will be going back soon!
🚨 WARNING: Anything purchased here is delicious and habit forming 🤤 I’m not sure I should be tellin’ y’all about my favorite spots because I’m not tryna find another wrap-around line at a hidden gem! Buuut, I have to give a shoutout to Crumble & Whisk for bringing some artisanal, other worldly, decadent, classy, and schmackin’ pastries, breakfast, and occasional soul food to East Oakland! Did I mention it’s Black owned? ✊🏽 Charles, the owner, He’s a cool, patient, collaborative, friendly, passionate, and generous man. I popped in for the first time this week and got the butter pecan STUFFED croissant. I almost caught a case because I was finna slap somebody! It had a ‘come back’ that made it hard to put down. I had to say something because it was SO good. Charles invited me to come back July 3-4, for a collaboration with Frida’s Cocina, and they’ll have a special menu. I came back with a friend to checkout the shop to try their July special deals. I got the Korean inspired braised beef and my friend got the St. Louis style ribs. The jalapeño pineapple slaw and potato salad was hella good!! The beef was tender, had a slow burn (spice— felt like Cheyanne) that had me coming back. The portions were legit and worth the ticket price ✅ My friend was tearing up them ribs so bad I had to tell them not to suck their fingers and make eye contact with me like that! Pause. The interior of the space is clean and has tasteful artwork and a welcoming atmosphere. There’s seating along the walls if you want to eat and go. PARKING: There’s metered street parking and residential free parking around the corner off 39th Ave. If you’re being hot, you can park at Planet Fitness across the street or Ace Hardware on the next block but those areas are monitored and you could potentially get towed doing too much.
